That’s a wrap (or a tie literally) for this Spring! Thank you to everyone who showed up weekly to crochet, tie and visit at Peace United. Special recognition to our knitters and crocheters who worked from home making thousands of poppies. With the support of North Blenheim Mutual we were able to provide kits and teach students at both Plattsville Christian and Plattsville & District Public School to crochet and the importance of Remembrance and community participation. With the support of the Township of Blandford-Blenheim we were able to expand our project into Drumbo and Princeton, including displays for our four fire stations, community cenotaphs and public buildings. We look forward to sharing these Remembrance displays in support of those who gave all, those who served past, present and future, and the families that support them. We hope you will honour our veterans by visiting these displays come November. We look forward to meeting again in the Fall with our great group and new community members that wish to join us. With the generous donation of quilts and afghans, we will be selling tickets to raise funds for the New Hamburg Legion Poppy Fund. Tickets will be $5 or 3/$10 and will be available from our poppy members and at the Community Day and Community Summer BBQs in the park. Draw will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 1st. Sincerely, Denise DeJonge & Denise Tew
